    • If you have or have had liver disease in which your liver function tests do not return to normal
    • If you have a rare and inherited blood disease called porphyria
    • If any of the ancillary substances in the combination of estradiol or ESTROFEM have a sensitivity (see section on adjuvants).

Do not use ESTROFEM if any of these wake-ups apply to you. If you are unsure of any of these conditions, contact your doctor before taking ESTROFEM.

If ESTROFEM appears for the first time in any of the above conditions, immediately stop taking the drug and consult your doctor immediately.

Reasons you need to stop ESTROFEM

If you need to have a blood test, tell your doctor that you are using ESTROFEM because estrogen can affect some laboratory test results.

If you are going to have surgery, tell your doctor that you are taking ESTROFEM. To reduce the risk of blood clots, you may need to stop taking ESTROFEM approximately 4 to 6 weeks prior to the operation (see section 2 Blood blood clot). We do not ask your doctor when you can start ESTROFEM again.

Stop using ESTROFEM in the presence of any of the following conditions and contact your doctor immediately:

    • In the presence of any condition listed in Chapter 2, "DO NOT USE ESTROFEM"
    • Your skin or your eyes turn yellow (jaundice). These may be symptoms of a liver disease.
    • If there is a significant increase in your blood pressure (the symptoms may be headache, fatigue, dizziness)
    • If you have migraine-type headache for the first time
    • If you are pregnant
    • If you notice any signs of blood clots such as painful swelling and redness of the legs, sudden chest pain, difficulty in breathing

(For more information, see section 2 Blood clot (thrombosis)).

ESTROFEM is not a birth control pills (contraceptives). If less than 12 months have passed since your last menstrual period, or you are under 50 years of age, you may still need to use additional contraception to prevent pregnancy. Ask your doctor for advice.

HRT and cancer Over-thickening of endometrial tissue (endometrial hyperplasia) and cancer of the uterus (endometrial cancer)

The use of estrogen-only HRT increases the risk of over-thickening of the endometrial tissue (endometrial hyperplasia) and cancer of the uterus (endometrial cancer).

Progestagen intake in addition to estrogen at least 12 days per 28-day period will protect you from this extra risk. For this reason, your doctor will prescribe progestagen to you as well. If you have a bovine hysterectomy (hysterectomy), consult with your doctor if you can not take this product safely without progesterone.

Comparison

L,

It is expected that 5 out of every 1000 females who are in the womb and who do not receive HRT will be diagnosed with endometrial cancer between the ages of 50 and 65.

For women between 50 and 65 years of HRT who are in the womb and only estrogen, 10 to 60 women in 1000 people are expected to be diagnosed with endometrial cancer (additional 5 to 55 cases), depending on the dosage and how long they are used.

Unexpected bleeding

ESTROFEM will be your bleeding once a month (called withdrawal bleed). However, if you have an unexpected amount of bleeding or staining that continues after the ESTROFEM treatment, which starts after the 6 month longer use of ESTROFEM, as well as your monthly bleeding, visit your doctor as soon as possible.

Breast Cancer

Findings show that HRT containing combined estrogen-progestagen and possibly only estrogen increases breast cancer risk. This extra risk depends on how much HRT you are getting. The additional risk becomes apparent within a few years. However, it returns to normal within a few years (max. 5) following the cessation of treatment.

For women who have received HRT and who only use estrogen-containing HRT for 5 years, an increase in the risk of breast cancer is rarely seen or never seen.

Comparison

Between 9 and 17 out of every 1,000 females between the ages of 50 and 79 who do not have HRT are expected to have breast cancer diagnosed during the five-year period. For women aged 50 to 79 years who are on HRT with estrogen-progestogen for five years, 13 to 23 cases per 1000 users are expected (ie, 4 to 6 additional cases).

Check your memories regularly. If you notice any of the following changes, contact your doctor.

    • deep pit
    • change in nipple
    • any mass you can see or feel.

Ovarian cancer

Ovarian cancer is rare. It has been reported that the risk of ovarian cancer is slightly elevated in women receiving HRT for at least 5 to 10 years.

In women aged 50 to 69 years who do not receive HRT, approximately 2 out of 1000 women are expected to be diagnosed with ovarian cancer over a 5-year period. For women who are receiving HRT for longer than 5 years, it is expected that there will be 2 to 3 cases per 1,000 users (in other words, up to 1 additional case).

The effect of HRT on heart and circulation The blood clot (thrombosis)

In HRT users, especially during the first year of taking, the risk of blood clots in the vascular is 1.3 to 3 times higher than for those who do not.

The blood clot may be severe and, if it progresses through the lungs, may cause chest pain, breathlessness, fainting, or death.

If you are older and any of the following is true for you, blood vessels are more likely to form in your veins. If any of these conditions apply to you, inform your doctor:

    • If it is not possible for you to walk for a long time due to a major operation, wound or disease (see section 2, where you need to stop ESTROFEM surgery)
    • If you are seriously overweight (body mass index (BMI)> 30 kg / m 2 )
    • If you have a blood clot problem that requires long-term treatment with a medication used to block the blood clot
    • If blood clots develop in one's pouch, lung or other organ of your close relatives
    • If you have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
    • If you have cancer.

For the indication of blood clot, see section "Stop using ESTROFEM in the presence of any of the following conditions and urgently contact your physician".

Comparison

Four to seven out of every 1000 females aged 50 who do not receive HRT are expected to have a blood clot in their veins over a 5-year period.

For women aged 50 years who are taking HRT containing estrogen-progestogen longer than 5 years, it is expected that between 9 and 12 cases per 1,000 users (ie, 5 additional cases).

It is expected to be between 5 and 8 cases per 1,000 users (ie 1 additional case) in women who are 50 years of age who are taking HRT containing only estrogen, which lasts longer than 5 years.

Heart disease (heart attack)

There is no evidence that HRT using estrogen-progestagen or estrogen alone in women with or without heart disease protects the person from heart disease.

There is no increase in the risk of developing heart disease for women who have been taken to the womb and only receive estrogen therapy.

Stroke

It is about 1.5 times higher than HRT users who do not use stroke risk. Due to the use of HRT, the number of additional cases of incontinence increases with age.

Comparison

Looking at women in their 50s who do not receive HRT, it is expected that a stroke of about 8 per 1000 females over a 5-year period. For older women aged 50 who are taking HRT longer than 5 years, it is expected that there will be 11 cases in 1000 users (in other words, 3 additional cases).

Other conditions

Estrogens should be used under the supervision of a doctor if you have a disease such as heart or kidney failure as they may cause fluid retention.

If your local fat values (triglycerides) are too high, estrogen or hormone replacement (replacement) treatment should be maintained at the doctor's control.

Estrogens may cause an increase in circulating thyroid hormone levels.

HRT does not prevent memory loss. There are some findings that women who are starting to use HRT after 65 years have a higher risk of memory loss. See your doctor for advice.
